Coco Reef Bermuda

Our room had recently been remodeled, and the staff were friendly. The restaurant was decent, and even with the resort fully booked it felt quiet. The beach was well cared for, and it’s a great deal for somewhere right on the beach, though the place is a bit dated. The checkout time was the problem: the website said noon, so we planned our ride and final morning around that, but checkout was actually at 11. Please update the website.

Our room had mold, bugs, and water leaking through the ceiling. Another guest’s air conditioner started smoking during our stay. Staff moved us to a temporary room and said they’d have a permanent one ready the next day. We left the temporary room at 9am, then waited until 6pm for another room. We clearly weren’t a priority. The hotel refused any kind of refund and gave us two drink tickets for the trouble. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. It’s run down.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the restaurant was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was unfortunately here for something other than leisure this time, but I’d come back to enjoy the resort properly. I liked the quaint path down to the private beach. Hope I can return soon. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel.

The front desk woman was extremely kind and welcoming, and the rooms were very clean. We also had noise outside our room early in the morning, with someone talking on the phone and disturbing our sleep. My friend and I were at Coco Reef only from November 2-4, when food poisoning cut our trip short. When we asked for the cancellation policy, the property manager wouldn’t show it to us and refused any refund despite the unexpected circumstances. Expedia’s policy doesn’t clearly say what happens if you cancel after a stay has begun. He also claimed he’d sampled our food the previous night and knew what we’d eaten, but we hadn’t eaten at the hotel. I’m very upset with how this ended, and won’t recommend Coco Reef because of the treatment. It’s a poor reflection on the company and Bermuda.
