The decor was dated, but that wasn't what made me leave after one night instead of two. The water in the kitchen, bathroom, and shower had a strong rotten-egg smell, and I didn't end up using the shower.

Brenda was the highlight. She was kind and accommodating, cleaned the apartment almost every day, tried to make everything as convenient and efficient as possible, and called taxis for us when we needed them. The kitchen is a little crowded but stocked with most things you might need, and this was the most affordable place we could find. The water stopped working once, but Brenda fixed it as soon as we told her. The tap water is completely safe to drink. My room's AC struggled to cool things down. Sleeping was tolerable, but even set to 64 F (about 17.7 C), the room averaged around 82 F (about 27.8 C). We were there the first week of August, when it was already quite hot outside. There was also a mix-up with the bike rentals Brenda tried to reserve for us at Elbow Beach Cycles. They had no bikes left when my family and I arrived, so I'd contact any service she books for you to double-check. Still, for the price, the conditions were acceptable, and the good outweighed the bad for me. I'd happily stay again.

Brenda was incredibly sweet and accommodating during our three-day stay. Our room was clean, the AC was nice and cold, and everything worked. The price was reasonable, and I'd definitely stay here again.

I was a little unsure at first, but grew to like the place more the longer I stayed. Brenda was a wonderful host and made sure we had what we needed. The rooms are clean, the WiFi works, and there's even a smart TV that I could log into Netflix on. It's right across the street from the beach, with a great ocean view, close to bus routes, and within walking distance of a convenience store. You get what you pay for.
