The katsu ciabatta was a generous, crispy sandwich with lots of sauce and coleslaw, and it was a really satisfying bite. The portion was big. I also loved the very crisp rosti with sour cream. The fries were a little soggy, though, and could have used a longer fry for more crunch. The steak ciabatta was a letdown because the steak was tough. Coffee was pretty good. We went for lunch after golf. The small café was clean and packed, so we had made a reservation. It looks out over KB town and the river. Service was prompt and attentive. I'd come back to try the desserts.

The ice cappuccino and tea were good, and the customer service was great. But the food was a letdown this time. I've been here before and it was usually pretty good. The “Big Brekkie” was poorly seasoned across the plate, except for the mushroom and sausage. The toast was so soggy it tasted like bread pudding. I don't know how a basic order can go wrong like that. The “special” chicken avocado sandwich was bland too. I'm not sure if the chef forgot to season the food before cooking and serving it.

I tried almost the whole menu over my two-week hotel stay. Most of the food was great, with some familiar Western choices. The one dish I didn't like was the quiche; its crust ruined it for me. The café is small, with a unique view over KB town and the river. It gets so busy on weekends that all the seats can be occupied or reserved, and I'd order room service instead. Staff were friendly and attentive.

For a day or two, this is a very good place to stay. The rooms are small but cosy, with modern renovations, and the service is good. Staff are polite, and the food is also up to standard. Nice hotel in a good location.

You can count on the full English breakfast: eggs, sausages, mushrooms, beans, toast, plus coffee or tea. The pulled beef sandwich was pleasant to eat, though on the sweet side, and I'd order it again. I also recommend the savory pancakes, served with chicken and butter on top and maple syrup on the side. They're delicious. As someone from bandar, I get why breakfast here is such a hype. I've only visited twice, but loved it both times. Book ahead if you want to dine here. Most items cost at least $10. Service was quick, and the staff were friendly and attentive even when it got packed. The atmosphere is great, with a stunning view of the Brunei river and mangrove vegetation.
