Hotel estelar del tititaca

I was a little hesitant to come after reading earlier reviews, but my stay turned out to be positive. Fernando at the front desk was warm, welcoming, and helpful, greeting everyone with a smile and offering help whenever he could. The showers were pleasantly warm, and I can see they're installing a heating system too. I liked the value enough to book a few extra nights, and I'd definitely come back.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and we paid about $20 a night for a private room with an en-suite, balcony, and lake view. I especially liked the soft, warm lighting instead of the harsh fluorescent colors common in South America. It was a bit dusty when I arrived, but staff cleaned it up quickly. WiFi was reliable enough to stream. Reception could be a little curt, though I had a great stay and would gladly return.

The lake views are lovely, though the hotel is a long way from everything else. Staff were kind and helpful, and the rooms came with clean towels, toilet paper, soap, and hair products. There’s no elevator, but if stairs aren’t a problem, the upper floors are the best. I can’t comment on the food.

The view makes up for the service issues. We liked the decor, the hot shower, and the nice breakfast, but the staff could use better training. The service didn’t feel very good, and it seemed like they didn’t really care whether we were comfortable or chose to stay somewhere else. Maybe that’s common at most hotels, but still.
