Hostal Puerto Yumani

Our stay was awful. The bathroom door was broken so we couldn't get in, and the light didn't work either. The manager said he couldn't fix the problems and wouldn't offer a discount. He suggested rooms in worse condition or moving hotels, but we were staying with friends in adjacent rooms and didn't want to move. When we refused, he offered the room for free, then quickly changed his mind and demanded full payment right away. He accused us of trying not to pay, even though we'd only asked for a discount. When we said we could pay in the morning, he sat on one of the beds and wouldn't leave until we paid. He got very angry when we asked him to sign a receipt. It was the rudest encounter I've ever had with a hostel. We also strongly suspect the sheets weren't washed and the rooms weren't cleaned.

Horrible. The manager running this place is a scammer, in my view. He lied to get us to stay at his hotel, charged us double what locals paid, and was disrespectful. The place was dirty.

The food was good, but there was no toilet paper. When I asked the man at the restaurant, he said I had to pay for it, even though we'd eaten there.

Wish zero stars were possible. The staff were the most pitiful and unpleasant I've ever come across. One of my worst experiences in two months in South America. Don't come here.
