Casa de Piedra

The location is really nice for exploring the city, and the rooms are quiet. We were on the third floor, which gets a little hot in summer. Breakfast wasn’t anything special and had little variety.

This is a former villa that’s more than 400 years old, so expect an ancient, rustic place with limited amenities, not the Ritz. The history and architecture inside are wonderful, and the rooms are remarkable and memorable. There’s a good hot shower, breakfast is decent and included, and the English-speaking front desk staff are very helpful. Perfectly placed for seeing the sights.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely in a stunning room. Our own room was amazing, spacious, and big. This beautifully renovated old monastery has become one of the loveliest boutique hotels. It’s in the heart of La Paz, a five-minute walk from the tourist area, and the bus station is also within walking distance. We’ll stay here again next time we come to La Paz.

The hotel is beautiful, tucked down a small road behind a large wooden door that opens onto a little courtyard. It’s well located for visiting the main tourist spots and museums. My room was very spacious, well decorated, and equipped. I stayed only one night, arriving late and leaving very early, but the service was very good in the little time I was there. They offered a packed breakfast for the morning and booked a taxi. I’ll definitely stay there if I return to La Paz.
