Qantu Hotel

The room was clean and tidy, and the shower had hot water. The location was really good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was perfect!

We could stay at the hotel after checkout and leave our bags there until our bus, which was handy. The room was clean, had a heater, and came with a TV offering Netflix and Amazon, though you need your own login. The buffet breakfast was okay, with fruit, cereal, toast, and one egg per person cooked to order. Hot showers had decent pressure, too. It’s a nice, affordable hotel in the city centre, but the room wifi was pretty awful at certain times. I also wouldn’t book through the hotel’s travel agency. We arranged our bus to Uyuni there and found out afterward they’d charged us double the actual fare. I understand tour companies take commission, but double is ridiculous.

Qantu is right in the centre, close to witches market, teleferico stations and the bus terminal, and within walking distance of the Sopocacchi neighborhood. That makes the streets busy and noisy, though it didn’t bother us. If you want a quiet area, this might not suit you. The staff were polite and helpful, gave us a city map, and had arranged our airport transfer after I emailed ahead. Our driver was already waiting when we arrived very early in the morning. The rooms were comfortable, with extra blankets in the closet, which I appreciated because I get cold easily. The bathroom was good, with hot shower water and fresh towels. Breakfast came with the stay and was served buffet style in the rooftop restaurant, with a nice balcony where we enjoyed our morning coffee. I was very happy with Qantu and would recommend it to people visiting La Paz.

Room 602 was bright and clean, and the staff were extremely helpful. Witches Market is very close by.
