Colibrí Camping & Eco Lodge

We spent two weeks here in our campervan and loved it. The hot showers were good, everything was clean, and the free outdoor kitchen was the best we’ve come across at a campsite. There are lots of cozy places to sit, from hammocks to spots around the campfire. The whole family was so friendly and helped arrange taxis, share information, and do laundry. Coming back from an outing felt like coming home. It’s close to the center but away from traffic and noise, and a lovely place to be surrounded by nature.

Two weekends ago I stayed at the Green House with friends from La Paz. David and the staff, along with the accommodation and location, made it a great stay. Walking through the valley by el rio and seeing the stars at night were especially memorable.

Colibri Camping sits in Moon Canyon, in the mountains just outside La Paz. The wide views, greenery, and quiet made it a lovely place to rest, reflect, and be close to nature. The hosts were warm, generous, and knowledgeable, and I felt safe and at home. Meals made with fresh local ingredients were carefully prepared, and every one felt like a gift. I also appreciated the chance to meet the local community and learn about life in Bolivia. Nearby archaeological sites and lake Titicaca added history and culture to the experience. I left feeling rested, inspired, and grateful.

The view is great, and the hosts are welcoming. I enjoyed the breakfast and lunch, especially the "pastel de quinoa". They gave me an extra blanket for the cold nights, and the volunteers were lovely too. It’s a nice place in nature outside La Paz, with the city accessible by cable car.
