Caserita Apart

We stayed for 4-5 days and found it a good deal, with helpful staff and a reasonable price. The clean room had a private balcony overlooking the city, plus lots of DVDs to pass the time while acclimating to the altitude. It’s a well-equipped little hotel near a cable car station, though there isn’t much else nearby. The room size and setup work for a short stay or a longer one.

The place we arrived at was completely different from the house we’d discussed, and the man then asked for more money for the other houses. They seemed old and in need of maintenance, so we ended up going to an Airbnb. To make matters worse, the person running it was French American, not local.

We had a great time in this apartment, especially because of its excellent location and how well equipped it was. The owner was friendly and quick to respond. Wi-Fi did cut out sometimes, and a few electrical outlets needed fixing.

The neighborhood felt very safe, and the staff provided excellent service. The aparthotel is clean, with tasteful traditional decor and good equipment. Hot water is available all day, heated by solar panels, which is a big plus in La Paz. The one drawback is its fairly high elevation in the city, so anyone sensitive to altitude should keep that in mind. Otherwise, a place I’d recommend to tourists.
