Rodrigo was lovely and accommodating, and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were large and comfortable.

Room 15 had a comfortable bed, plenty of space for a solo traveler, and a distant view of the mountainsides. The lift worked well, and even with the cold outside, the room stayed comfortable overnight. The water heater was in top condition, with no waiting for hot water. Rodrigo was a star. He runs nearly everything with help from his family, and his calm manner and “yes-and” attitude made the stay easy and carefree. He gave me good advice and quickly arranged my tour. Breakfast was hearty and healthy. I'm sensitive to salt, so I was glad the eggs came unsalted and we could season them ourselves. There was fruit, bread, cereals, coffee, tea, tomatoes, and avocado. The towel had a slight mildew smell, probably because of the cold weather. The toilet area was a bit cramped, with just a shower curtain between it and the shower, though it stayed dry if used carefully. A toiletries holder in the shower would help, since I had to leave my things on the toilet floor or reach over to the rack by the toilet. There are vendors all along the street below, so mornings could bother you if you like to sleep late. I didn't mind; I enjoyed the lively, friendly morning scene. For me, this was a hands-down winner.

The shower heater worked really well, and there's an elevator, so the floor you're on isn't a concern. Rodrigo was great too. He arranged our shuttle for a fee, spoke good English, and had helpful advice. The rooms were cold, though. I needed all three blankets on the bed. Breakfast was ordinary, and the coffee was instant. He also had some coca leaf, which helped with the altitude.

Great value in La Paz, with a generous, varied breakfast and a host who really knows where to go and what to do. Staying here made my time in the city much more enjoyable. I'd absolutely come back.
