Hotel Gran Aurum

We stayed for five days. At first they put us in a room without the jacuzzi listed in our Booking reservation. I complained, they confirmed it was included, and we changed rooms. That room was cold, and the heater they offered cost 30 bs per day. We agreed, but it barely warmed anything and leaked oil. My partner complained and said he wouldn't pay for it. If you're in a rush to shower, give yourself two hours, because the hot water seems to take forever to heat. The rooms are comfortable and pretty, which makes me feel bad complaining, and the staff were very friendly. I imagine the problems aren't their fault, but you can see how embarrassed they feel each time someone complains. The hotel was under construction and needs some life put into it. Walking in felt like entering a scary movie. If they don't get things together, they'll end up closing. They should either make better use of it or call it a 1-star hotel. The prices aren't cheap. Good luck, I hope it improves.

The pool was disgusting, crowded, cold, and unhygienic. People didn't respect the children's pool, and some left as soon as they arrived. The pools are advertised as huge, but they're barely two by two meters. My brother hurt his face while diving in. The lockers were tiny, and the showers were clogged with stagnant water. I don't recommend it. Please don't go if you want to avoid an allergic reaction.

I was in Bolivia to sort out some paperwork, and this place was only a 10-minute drive from the Venezuelan embassy. The stay was pleasant: the staff were very friendly, the facilities spacious, and the rooms clean. There are shops nearby for food and household items. I'd stay here again if I return to Bolivia. I recommend it, and booking through the Despegar app can get you a good discount.

The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and we enjoyed the hot tub. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, with quick service and lots of flexibility.
