The rooms are cozy and have gas heaters, with renovated interiors, clean sheets, and new mattresses. The place is right in central Potosi. Breakfast is basic but enough, and the staff provided good service. Highly recommended.

We slept well in room 105 in April 2025. It was clean, had a comfortable double bed, and was quiet despite the surrounding area. The bathroom was brand new, the shower hot, and the Wi-Fi worked reliably. Heating was very effective, though we didn’t need it. There was a small refrigerator, but no other in-room amenities, and nowhere to make tea or coffee. Breakfast began at 7.30 AM and was tasty. Hostal Colonial is close to Plaza 10 de Noviembre, the cathedral, and other attractions, in a beautiful colonial building with lots of atmosphere. Its coordinates are -19.588851°, -65.752096°. A lovely central spot for a good night’s sleep, highly recommended.

The staff were so friendly and helped us arrange a private taxi to Sucre at a good price. My boyfriend and I stayed one night at Hostal Colonial in March 2023, and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, our room was a great size, and it’s only about a two minute walk from the main plaza, right in the center. I’d definitely return if we come back to Potosí, and highly recommend it if you’re looking for a place to stay here. Thanks to the staff at Hostal Colonial for the hospitality, and hopefully we’ll be back soon.

A really nice hotel in a good part of Potosi. The room was spacious, and the bathroom especially so. I was surprised that the TV worked pretty well, by Bolivia-wide standards, and had lots of channels. The beds were very warm, which matters in Potosi when nights drop below zero degrees Celsius.

We ended up extending our stay. It’s warm, has a great shower, and the rooms facing the courtyard are almost silent. The staff are incredibly friendly, and it’s probably the best located hotel in town.
