The rooms are cozy, but once evening comes, sleep is hard to come by. A bar outside draws a crowd, with loud music and a party that goes on until 3 a.m. I was really disappointed with my stay. Never again, there are plenty of other hostels around.

The host was very sweet and the service was lovely. It’s a quaint place with a nice charm, and simple but comfortable enough for my basic travel needs. Breakfast was tasty too, a good way to start the day.

Our Hostelworld reservation was cancelled only 40 minutes before we arrived. He offered to move us to an eight-person dorm, but since we’d come early in the morning, wanted 40% extra. We said we’d come back at the normal check-in time and asked if we could leave our bags. He said no, then stood there nervously while we put on our rain gear to leave. I’ve never had service this unfriendly or unhelpful.

A real hidden gem in Sucre. The staff were incredibly understanding and helpful, and the price was very reasonable. Rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms have everything, including hot water and good pressure. Their restaurant serves delicious food, and the rum is among the best I’ve tasted during my three-year trip through Latin America. If you’re staying in Sucre, this is the place to come.
