The setting has a charming, different feel, with older furniture and decor that's still quite well kept. It's not a modern place, and breakfast is very basic. The location works well for tourists or work trips, with restaurants, pubs, museums, and just about everything nearby.

The style of the hotel is quite nice, but some rooms have a strange smell. The room we were given smelled awful, and the receptionist was very rude. Even though we said we had a reservation, he nearly made us leave. He only stopped treating us so badly after another man arrived and confirmed our booking.

The gardens were amazing, and the building itself is nice. The rooms are large and could be lovely, but they feel very old and have a stale smell. The shower was horrible, half the things were broken, and the cleaning needs improvement.

Nobody came to check or clean our room during the two days we stayed. A few days after leaving, we found bugs on our bodies and had to take cortisone and antihistamine medicine. We're very suspicious about this hotel. Really, really sad...

We ate here. The food was mediocre at best, though the salad bar was okay.
