Samarikuna Hotel

Breakfast was generous and delicious, with bread, jam, eggs, juice, and coffee or tea. The coffee was very good, and you can buy it separately at any time of day. The rooftop gives you a lovely view of the city and stars at night, and dinner is available there if you ask ahead. This is a brand new hotel in Torotoro, with large, clean rooms, very comfortable beds, and clean linens and towels. The shower gets very hot, one of the best I’ve had in Bolivia. Wi-Fi was good and reached the rooms.

Luis is the reason for my scores. He’s super friendly and nice, and made me feel at home. The Wi-Fi is good and stable. I can’t forget what the owner of the house did to me, though, so I didn’t give it five stars.

I found this place after arriving in Torotoro in mid-September 2022 without a reservation and with little hope of finding a room with a private bathroom, since most hotels there have shared ones. Samarikuna Torotoro turned out to be extremely well organized, clean, and quiet, with a private bathroom, hot showers, and Wi-Fi. Both were the best I had in Bolivia. Francisco showed me the terrace on my first night, a perfect spot to see Torotoro at night and, on most days, the star-filled sky thanks to the low light pollution. On the second night, I got to know the family who runs the hotel, and we talked for hours about Torotoro and Bolivia. They even taught me some traditional Bolivian dances and showed me around Torotoro. On the third day I had a great conversation with Francisco about life in general. He’s an intellectual and fascinating person. The family’s friendliness and the overall condition of the place were perfect, more than I could have asked for. Thanks for everything. I hope we meet again someday.

The rooms were spacious, big, and clean, and all the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we had the best stay. Amazing hotel!
