The room was very clean and roomy, with two floors. Our bed was upstairs, where the sun kept things nice and warm, while downstairs stayed cool and had a sofa and TV. Breakfast was included, with homemade smoothies, an omelet, coffee, teas, bread, crackers, cereal, and similar things. The staff were really friendly and let us leave our luggage behind the desk while we explored town for the day. It was easy to find, right beside the Main Street, and we had a great experience.

Sleeping in a train was a pretty unusual experience, and it made Uyuni feel a bit more worthwhile since the town itself is rather bleak. The room was small and the water and Wi-Fi had a few problems, but otherwise it was good. The woman at the desk was really kind and helpful.

The room I got wasn't the one I'd booked, and I waited 45 minutes before anyone at reception showed up. Other guests ran into the same thing, so it felt like a bait and switch. They also lock the gate at night without warning you, and there may be nobody around to answer the buzzer when you try to get back in. In the morning there was no receptionist for checkout either, so I left my keys and went. Avoid it. You might reserve a train carriage and end up with something else.

There was hardly anyone staying there, yet I was given a cramped little room with a tiny bed, no amenities, and only a cold shower, despite the weather being -2 Celsius. No one at reception was available to answer questions or help. After I called the support line in the morning, a receptionist finally came. She said hot water would be available in 40 minutes, then 35 minutes later moved me to a nice room in a hotel with hot water. There was just me and a German woman staying there, and she had paid the exact same amount but got a bigger room, hot water, and a nice bed. Why give a guest the worst room when the hotel is empty? They should think about their customers if they want the business to do well. One of my worst hotel stays across more than 70 countries I've travelled to. I really can't recommend this place.
