Hostal Vagabundo

The couple who run the place were kind and helpful, and breakfast was okay, but for the price I think some refurbishment is needed, even in Samaipata. We paid 140bob (cv 20USD) for a room with breakfast, while a dorm costs 50bob. The shower also left a fair bit of water sitting in it instead of draining away. The biggest problems for me were the mattress and the noise. The mattress felt completely worn out, and I could feel the wood underneath it. The sound isolation was close to nonexistent. Four girls were in the dorm upstairs, right above us. They were noisy around midnight, then seemed to be leaving at 4am. We could hear their alarm, their conversation as if they were in our room, and every step on the wooden plank floor. I went upstairs and asked them to stop the music, but they didn't care. The poor sound isolation was really the issue.
