Windhoek Resort Bonaire

This was our second stay with Windhoek, and Mafalda and the whole staff made us feel welcome and like part of the family. The villas are great shady places to hang out. It's a very comfortable base with a great kitchen and an incredible saltwater pool, just right after a long day diving, wind sailing, or fishing. It had everything we could ask for.

It was a lovely change of pace, with an atmosphere more like a small family community. Methelda and Camila were perfect hosts and gave us great suggestions for beaches, activities, and restaurants.

We only had one night here on our way home, and wished we'd stayed here at the start of the trip instead of at another nearby resort. We prefer small boutique places to huge, crowded ones, and this resort was the perfect size. It was calm and beautiful, and the rooms were lovely. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged and seamless, from the airport transfer and welcome drinks to the pool area and honesty bar. Even the electric bug zapper tennis racquet in the bedroom was a nice touch. The staff were lovely, and the location worked perfectly for us. We'd definitely return.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and when a few minor issues came up, they immediately did what they could to fix them. They even arranged a late checkout without us asking and paid for a taxi to the airport. I'll definitely stay here on my next visit. Windhoek is a quiet, beautiful place outside the city center, so a car is recommended. Each bungalow has its own shaded parking space, marked with its number. Ours had a large shaded porch and a hammock. The room was a decent size, with a very large shower and separate toilet. It's all open plan, so there's no door between the sleeping area and shower. The kitchen is in a separate part of the bungalow, which is nice when you don't want the heat in the bedroom. We loved the pool between the bungalows. Since it's a small accommodation, it was never crowded and was often empty when we used it.
