Corallium Hotel & Villas Bonaire

A good, affordable hotel, quite a bit cheaper than most hotels and Airbnbs. The canal views were lovely, and a golf cart with an employee takes you from the front desk to your room. There's a nice pool and a jacuzzi that you can ask to have switched on if it isn't already. The drive to or from the airport and downtown is quick and easy. The one downside is that the poolside restaurant and bar close much too early, at 5 PM, though downtown is only a short drive away.

The hotel has a nice look, with individual units in different colors and a pleasant path connecting them. The breakfast lady was fantastic too. We'd been on the island four days and had met lots of nice, hospitable people, though they were more reserved than people we'd encountered on other islands. Some say that's just how the Dutch are, but I can't confirm or deny it. The breakfast lady was the first person who brought real energy, happiness, and warmth in her voice. She had a way of filling the room and getting noticed. I wish I could remember her name. I wish both her and Ben the best. Ben was the front desk receptionist we dealt with. At check-in, there was confusion between Expedia and the hotel's computers. He gave us an available room right away, then looked into the mix-up afterwards so we could make the most of our time on the island. That evening, a generator in our building started beeping loudly. Ben explained that when the power goes out, the technician has to reset the machine, or something like that. He offered us a larger room with a better view, but we'd already settled in, and packing up again with the kids would've been difficult. He kept us updated on when the mechanics would arrive and fix it. Both problems were outside Ben's control, but he handled them with professionalism and great customer service.

The location was perfect, within five minutes of the beach, airport, supermarket, and downtown. Staff were super friendly, and the bed was one of the best on Bonaire. Amazing hotel, definitely recommend.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful, with birds and iguanas around, as you'd expect on an island. It was quiet, our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. We had no complaints about the food on the property. For ordering out, you have to use WhatsApp, and the staff were very helpful with that. They also booked tables for us at some beautiful restaurants. There was a small snack section where you could buy things, and staff explained that the dollar-a-day tax is paid at the end of the stay. The staff and management deserve all five stars for our April 19-22 2025 stay. I had an amazing time in Bonaire.
