We’d always stayed at Divi on our trips to Bonaire over the past eight years, but for several reasons decided to try the “OG.” We couldn’t be happier with that choice. There were two couples in a two-bedroom, two-bath bungalow, so each couple had a private bathroom and we shared the common area. The porch was huge, with two tables and chairs. Roger, the dive manager, was pleasant, and all the dive staff were nice and professional. The boats were great. I wasn’t used to the two morning boat coming back to the dock for the surface interval, but honestly, it was a nice touch. Both pools were very clean and nice, and the staff at Rum Runners cleaned the restaurant every single morning. The restaurant itself was phenomenal. The house reef was nice too. I can’t say enough good things about the place. If you haven’t tried Captain Dons, I highly recommend it. Thanks to everyone there for making our 10 day vacation memorable and pleasant. We’ll be back in 2027.

Everything was convenient, the diving was great, and our room and the surroundings were spotless. The staff were cheerful and caring. One evening we had a plumbing problem, and the maintenance guy arrived within minutes and fixed it right away. We were sure we’d have to go without shower water until morning, but that wasn’t the case. It’s not a five star resort, but it’s well maintained and pleasant in every way. We had a blast and highly recommend it!

For our family’s first dive trip, Captain Don’s Habitat Bonaire worked perfectly for us and our four kids, who were new Open Water divers. We had a two-story beachfront villa that suited six people well. We enjoyed a good mix of boat and shore diving, and the service was friendly, professional, and personal. When a plumbing issue came up, it was fixed immediately. A memorable, awesome stay, and we’ll definitely be back.

The diving is amazing, the hotel staff are welcoming and friendly, and I’ve never found better dive staff anywhere. The “dive freedom” policy is why I’ve returned several times. Still, watching the Captain Don logo come down and a new one go up felt like seeing a legend die. That’s my opinion, though I suspect divers around the world who have been here before may feel the same. I think it was an incredibly disrespectful move by corporate. He was a legend and the reason Bonaire became known as one of the world’s premier dive capitals. Taking his name down feels like corporate arrogance.

We spent two weeks here and did boat dives with Jack, Sherman, Marco, Lars, Justin and Whitley. They were all great to spend time with and gave us excellent guidance, tips, and resources. The staff were friendly and helpful, and made us feel right at home. The house reef is great, tanks were always available, and there’s a dive shop on site. Our simple rooms did the job well, and the pool was a nice place to relax on a non-dive day. The orange shop cat, Boose, welcomed us too.
