The Estrela Sol Hotel is really good. There's new management, everything is organized, and the service is top notch. I highly recommend it.

The owner is a Flamengo fan, so if you're not, just pretend you are. Make yourself at home and stay at Estrela Sol.
The baiana and "Sabrina" were the most fantastic people we met, with wonderful service that felt heavenly. Almost everything else was great too, though the Wi-Fi doesn't reach the rooms, so you have to sit in the dining area to get a signal. The TV also has no signal, and the system needs adjusting or the cable provider needs changing so guests can watch in their rooms. Even with those issues, I highly recommend the place and would love to come back soon.
The hotel charges a fair rate, and we loved our days there. The breakfast is delicious, made with care, and the kitchen staff deserve praise. Sr. Aldo is a sweetheart, always helpful and attentive, and the service is excellent. Cleaning needs attention, especially in the bathrooms. Please have Sr. Oliveira check them, since people should use the toilet to pee, not the shower. The gardens also look a little neglected and could use a gardener. May God bless you all.
The owners were missing, and the place seemed to be left in the care of just three employees. With a few simple steps they could improve this charming property a lot, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who cares even a little about cleanliness. The setting is pretty, with lots of trees and a pool, but it's very poorly maintained. The room walls had damp stains from floor to ceiling, no exaggeration. The bathroom smelled strongly of mold, and the plastic shampoo holder and shower were covered in it. The shower wasn't cleaned, so most of its holes were clogged with dirt and the water came out weakly and unevenly. We thought about cleaning it ourselves, but it was so moldy we couldn't bear to touch it. Rooms are only cleaned if guests ask. Breakfast was simple but tasty, though they say it starts at 7:30 and it wasn't available until nearly 8, which is frustrating if you're trying to get to the beach early or catch one of the first boats back to Marudá. On our last morning, my husband went down around 7 to check on breakfast and found no one in the kitchen, but saw the property's cats asleep on the placemats on the dining room tables. Later, the same tablecloths and placemats were still there when guests were eating. The wine-colored tablecloths were white with cat hair along the edges. I was so disgusted I couldn't finish breakfast.
