For the price, this pousada is a good option if you want nature and quiet without being far from central Alto Paraíso. It also has a pool, evening fires, breakfast, and parking, and the hosts are great. There are hostel beds as well as private rooms with or without bathrooms. We booked a suite, which felt cramped, and the bathroom wasn’t great. The flush didn’t work, so the room smelled bad for all three days we were there.

The common area is great, breakfast was impeccable, and the view is beautiful. It’s quiet and close to the main avenue, and the well water in the pool is wonderful if you need to take care of your hair. The hostel rooms need work, though. There’s no privacy, you can hear everything other guests do, even the stories someone next door was watching. Any conversation or noise carries. The lighting is off to one side and makes it hard to see, and the mattresses badly need replacing. They’re so thin you can feel the bed frame. Fixing those things would make the stay much better.

The suites are very small, to get past each other one person has to step out, and there’s nowhere to put luggage. The bed and bath linens are very budget quality. I think the room and towel cleaning could be better.

A cozy, clean place, and I got to feel close to nature. I was lucky enough to see Araras there. The staff were polite, attentive, and ready to help. Breakfast was delicious. I’ll definitely be back.

I already want to come back. The service and rooms were really good, and breakfast was impeccable. The pousada is beautiful inside and out, with lovely spaces all around.
