Pousada Costa do Sape

The setting feels like paradise, with snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, and boat trips right there. It's secluded, but whenever we wanted to go out for the day, the staff helped arrange transport. They were wonderful with our family throughout the stay. They even jumped into the sea when my GoPro sank, helped decorate the dining area for my grandma's birthday, and surprised her with a lovely handmade card that she found after we got home. Even with our limited Portuguese, we communicated well. A special thank you to James, Emerenciana, kobbione, and another lovely guy whose name I've forgotten. I hope we can come back soon!

The view, food, and atmosphere all made this feel like a special place. The owners and staff were lovely too. It's a beautiful spot to explore the marvelous islands of Angra dos Reis.

A terrible experience. The location isn't good, and getting around was awful: the steep slope was slippery, and I had to walk down because nobody answered the intercom. The shower caught fire when I went to use it, so I had to move to an inferior room. Prices were outrageous, including 16.00 for a long-neck beer, the most expensive I've ever had. I also felt the staff were treated inhumanely. The receptionist tried to help with my dissatisfaction by letting me settle my bill and use the room to shower after a boat trip, since it would be empty. When I came back, my things were at reception, and she was in tears after being reprimanded by the owner. When I questioned the woman, she wouldn't admit she was the owner. The employees were more cordial than the owners themselves. Just awful and deeply disappointing.
