Hotel do Bosque is beautifully kept, with birds all around the grounds and a private beach that feels like a dream. The staff were attentive throughout and always close by when we needed something. It’s also a short drive from the charming UNESCO World Heritage city of Paraty, so make time to visit. We could easily have stayed a few more days, and hope to return.

The grounds are gorgeous, and it’s a lovely place to see some local wildlife. Everyone on staff was very friendly and keen to help, and we enjoyed the food at the hotel. The rooms feel a little dated, though, and could use an update to make sleeping more comfortable.

The best part of the resort is the beach: peaceful waves, warm sand, and a bar right by the water. It was very quiet when we visited, and the rooms are quite plain and basic. If you’re after a romantic stroll along the shore, it could suit you.

We stopped here on the way from Cacapava to Rio. The setting is stunning and it was great value. The rooms could do with an update, but I’d come back.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a huge bed, but they’re looking dated and could use renovation. The LCD TV needs replacing too. Still, between the two pools, the canal for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, and access to a rather distinctive beach, we had a good resort stay.
