Pousada dos Golfinhos

The staff are very polite and friendly, and this is a simple pousada that’s worth visiting. It sits right on the sand, practically with the beach as its yard, and the beach is clean and calm. My sea-facing room was spacious, airy, and bright, with a large comfortable bed. The shower had good pressure, though the hot water didn’t always work. I also missed having a shelf or counter for toiletries. Breakfast was simple but very good, with different breads and cakes, coffee, milk, chocolate drinks, juices, eggs, hot dogs, toast, and biscuits. There are no wardrobes, just two narrow shelves that don’t hold much, and there’s no table for setting down a meal. The balcony is open and doesn’t give you privacy from the neighboring room. The biggest drawback was the payment arrangement: half the stay had to be paid by Pix at booking, and the rest at check-in in a single card payment. I paid R$1,800 for three nights almost all at once.

It’s a very family-friendly place, and I’d come back. The pousada is pleasant, with a lovely view from nearly every room and a beach that feels almost private. My single room had plenty of space. A wardrobe might have been useful, but its absence didn’t affect my stay. Breakfast starts at 8:30. It isn’t fancy, but it has everything you need. I’d suggest serving it a little earlier, since there aren’t many places to eat in the area and people often get up early for the beach or a trip. One other suggestion: make arrivals easier for bus and tour groups. Large buses can’t go down the pousada’s hill, so people and luggage have to go on foot, up a very steep slope.

The rooms were clean and well looked after, and the value for money is great. The location is fantastic, with direct access to the beach, right on the sand. I’d read some complaints about breakfast, but I thought it was excellent. The buffet was always well stocked, with plenty of choice and food to serve yourself, and nothing was missing. With a pousada at this price right by the sea, it helps to remember not to expect a luxury breakfast like one at a five-star hotel. I recommend the pousada without hesitation, and we’d definitely return.
