Hotel San Telmo

The shower in our first room wasn’t getting hot, so I called reception and they moved us to another room. I loved the view there. Nice hotel, good breakfast, and close to everything in town.

The location was great, the place was clean, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the food was good. I also really liked the bar on the top floor. I stayed for a few days and had a good experience overall, though there were some problems. There weren’t many outlets in the room, which could be inconvenient if more than one guest needs to charge several devices. The shower could be better too. Reception service was mixed. The night receptionist was somewhat rude on several occasions. The daytime receptionist was polite, but there was an issue when I left my key with her directly at reception. When I came back and asked for it, she said I hadn’t left it there. I checked my pockets and went back to reception a few times before she found it, saying another receptionist had put it elsewhere. During that whole process she was rather rude, even though the mistake had been hers. A good place to stay, but reception could be more courteous and organized.

The location is the only good thing I can say about this hotel. My room had leaks, the air conditioning didn’t work, and there was loud music late into the night. Breakfast had little variety, and some food was spoiled. A staff member quoted one rate for the night, but when I went to pay, the person in charge charged more, saying the employee had made a mistake. Even though I had proof, they wouldn’t honor the lower price. Terrible experience. Zero stars for this hotel.

I had a terrible stay at Hotel San Telmo in Aparecida last weekend, and I can’t recommend it. At first they put us in a room with a very strong mold smell. We went to reception, and the attendant showed us another room, but its door wouldn’t open because it was jammed. In the end, we were moved to a somewhat acceptable room. The worst part came Sunday morning. Breakfast was meant to start at 7:00, but we were told it would be at least 30 minutes late because all the staff had arrived late. I told the man at reception I had an 8:00 commitment and couldn’t wait. He didn’t seem to care and said he was already supposed to have left because his shift was over. I had to get breakfast at the convenience store at the gas station next door, which cost me an extra 66 reais. At checkout I asked the receptionist if I could speak with a manager. She said there wasn’t one and that I could talk to her instead. It really didn’t seem like the place had a manager. In the end, that same attendant didn’t charge us the 20.50 we’d spent on food, to make up for the trouble.
