Practic Pousada

Good value, a lovely welcome, and a generous breakfast. The whole place is extremely clean, even the shared bathroom, and there’s Wi-Fi and a parking space. The mattress is quite firm, though, so it could be an issue if you prefer softer ones.

The reception and attention were outstanding, and breakfast was always on time and plentiful, even when I was the only person in the house, haha. The pousada is beside Porto Itaguaçu, where there’s a boat trip and a historic chapel, and it’s 2 km from the National Sanctuary of Aparecida. Walking there is a pilgrimage worth making for the scenery: the route goes by Mirante das Pedras, a place of historic value, and at dawn the sun gradually rises behind the Sanctuary. If you’re lucky, you might also see the train sounding its horn on the railway that runs parallel to the road. There’s parking if you let them know you’re coming by car, plus Wi-Fi. The room is comfortable and has a TV, but only one power outlet, so bring an extension cord. The bathroom is shared.

The owner is very attentive and helpful. The place is clean and pleasant, and the breakfast is excellent. I recommend it!
