The kids loved it, and we had fantastic service. The cabins are beautiful, comfortable, and full of charm, and they make sure you stay warm. They don't serve any food after 8pm, though, so if you're hungry with kids, ask about the pizza delivery they partner with.

It felt like I was living a wonderful dream of love, not just staying at Pousada Trêm do Imperador. I was lucky enough to share this dream during the two days I spent there, and I'm eternally grateful for those days with Senhor Gepeto dos Trens's family. From the moment I walked in, I could feel that this was more than a themed pousada. It grew out of a deep, lasting love for the railways of Minas Gerais. A lovely conversation with Senhor Sérgio, affectionately known as Gepeto dos Trens, confirmed that feeling. He's the dreamer who came up with the idea and owns the place, and he and his railway partners let guests share in that love of the railway. Everything here has a story, from family furniture to pieces from stations, railcars, engines, and other railway equipment. That love is contagious. The staff are caring, warm, and attentive, and welcomed us like family.

We stayed in one of the six real train-car rooms. They were spacious and comfortable, and it was a wonderful experience. The pousada is a living story of the railways, built entirely with railway equipment, and also has regular rooms. The owners make an excellent breakfast, and the staff are very helpful. I recommend it!
