Beach Living

The beach is right outside, and the view from the hotel is amazing. I’ve stayed here twice, and both visits were perfect. The rooms are clean, the food is incredible, and the waitresses are lovely. Service is amazing too.

The pools and mini water park are among the nicest parts of the hotel, and the location is close to a beautiful beach. There’s little else nearby for restaurants or shopping, though, and the infrastructure can’t make up for how dated the rooms are. The TV in mine was one of the worst I’ve seen in ages. Staff members were individually friendly and helpful, including the women running the daytime kids’ activities. Still, service organization caused breakfast logistics problems and delays at the restaurant. With no nearby competition, restaurant prices seemed around 30% to 40% higher than what you’d find in Fortaleza. The portions are also oddly inconsistent: Camarao a Grega could feed two, but Camarao Oriental was enough for one, even though both were listed as two-person portions. Hotel Jangadeiro could work for a family visiting Fortaleza, but I find it hard to recommend wholeheartedly.

There’s a water park at the hotel, and the ocean is only about 100 yards away. I found the staff patient and kind about my limited knowledge of the local language. My room was very nice, and the bed was quite comfortable.

The beach is lovely, and the service is friendly. That’s about all I liked: the food was mediocre at best, and the room felt outdated. It might still be a nice spot for small children.
