Hotel Shalom

The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the shower temperature controls worked perfectly. I stayed alone for one rainy night and had no problems at all; everything felt calm. The owners were thoughtful and helpful, and one of them made me a fresh breakfast just the way I liked it. We had a lovely conversation over it.

The breakfast was the worst I’ve had on a trip: stale bread, no fruit, cake, juice, or anything like what the advertising showed. The room was tiny and tucked at the back, with an old, broken dresser and a TV with terrible picture that only got two channels. There were no bath mats or cloths in the bathroom. People gathered right by the room door and talked, so there was no quiet or privacy. The service was only average. I never want to come back. A very bad place.

The owner gave us a warm welcome and was really attentive, and breakfast was great. I came to Aracaju for the Carnival holiday and stayed at pousada shalom. It was a pleasant, cozy place, though the rooms weren’t the best. It’s not very close to the waterfront, but I loved the stay and felt like returning.

If you only need somewhere to sleep, it might do, but don’t expect comfort. This didn’t feel like an inn, more like a house with additions built onto it. There were no towels or TV, breakfast was poor, and a dog was walking around the kitchen. They were still putting the bunk bed together when we arrived. I was in Aracaju for an exam, and this was a horrible experience.
