Residência Pancho Villa

We arrived at the room and found a cockroach as soon as we opened the door. That evening, hundreds of ants came out of holes in the window and infested the room. The owner came promptly with insect spray, but it was still a very unpleasant experience. Cleaning was clearly inadequate in both the rooms and outdoor areas, with spider webs and silverfish everywhere. The place feels abandoned and run down now, in December 2025. The reality is very different from the Booking photos and the inn’s listing, whatever the Google and Booking reviews may reflect from a long time ago. The furniture is badly worn, probably decades old and not properly maintained. The mattress was poor, and the TV is no longer there. It really isn’t worth it.

The owner was confusing and rude, and I ended up cancelling again to avoid trouble on the travel day. I’d first booked through booking.com and the reservation was confirmed, but he asked me to cancel because the place supposedly wasn’t available. Later I saw it was available and booked again. He messaged asking if I was coming, even though the reservation was for July 2026. I explained it wasn’t for that weekend, but he said it had been cancelled, apparently checking the old reservation. He just told me to sort it out with Booking. I tried to talk it through, but his replies made no sense; he said he’d look into it and then never got back to me.

A peaceful place, close to Brodway. Pancho is very welcoming. I liked the pousada.

The spot is quiet and good for relaxing with a group of friends. The owners are very welcoming, a German woman and a Chilean man. They’re polite, love to chat, and share their experiences. The location is strategic, right in central Canoa and beside Broadway, about a two-minute walk. Rooms can be double or triple, and there’s also room for a hammock on the balcony.
