Hotel Marques

A lovely place.

Hi, I wanted to share our feedback about our stay at Hotel Marques. It was extraordinary, and there’s nothing that would harm the hotel’s reputation. All the staff were attentive, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We had a small issue during our first stay, but CEO Fernanda handled it kindly, with respect and humanity. Would we stay again? Definitely. A 10 out of 10 hotel.

I stayed one night and had a terrible experience: dirty towels, an old blood stain on the bed, and moldy bread at breakfast. I’d eaten half of it before I noticed. I complained to reception and got a big “I’m sorry.” The service and facilities were awful.

I stayed from 04 to 06/07. On the first night, street noise woke me up at least 10 times. I checked the reviews and saw that guests had been complaining about this for over a year, while the hotel kept replying that it would arrange a renovation. The balcony doors on the rooms are all the same, poor quality, and there’s no sign they’re actually fixing the problem. I asked reception that first night to move rooms. The attendant said, “we’ll see about that tomorrow.” When I came back in the afternoon on the second day, my room smelled of cigarettes. That night the street noise was deafening, and a door in the hallway kept opening every two minutes. Staff were using the room to rest or for some other reason. They spoke loudly, and the door kept opening and closing until I finally fell asleep at 3:30 a.m. The housekeepers also talked loudly, with no consideration. Breakfast was very good. Other guests were complaining about the noise over breakfast too. I don’t recommend staying here. The balcony doors in all the street-facing rooms should be replaced to reduce the noise, since the current ones are poor quality and barely seal at all.
