Céu Azul pousada

The location is definitely the inn’s strongest point: it’s quiet and close to everything. We found it through a friend’s recommendation, and then, by coincidence, it also turned up in a package we bought online. The facilities are simple but clean. When we arrived, the room had a very strong sewage smell, which bothered us a lot, but the maintenance team fixed it quickly that same day, which was good. There were several things that could have been better. The pool was dirty with lots of insects, something daily morning maintenance might have prevented. The towels weren’t changed on the promised third day, and we used the same bed linen for all five days, even after asking for a change. The first towels had yellowish stains, and one of the replacements had a hole. In our room, there was mold low on the bathroom walls and the shower enclosure was loose. The staff are friendly and helpful, but they don’t take much initiative, so almost everything had to be requested more than once. At checkout, for example, nobody was available to help us. A cleaning staff member told us to leave the key on the counter. That moment felt short on care and attention to the customer. We didn’t try breakfast because it wasn’t included in our stay, but even with other guests at the inn, we didn’t see any signs or visible setup for the service. I heard the owner manages two or three other inns and is making improvements gradually. Céu Azul has a lot of potential, and I think the experience will improve over time. It was a good stay overall, but a few simple fixes could make the inn much more welcoming. I’d come back in the future, hoping to find those improvements in place.

The driver had just spent more than 12 hours traveling, but they left him sleeping in a chair even though rooms were empty. We waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for check-in, then were charged for it. The listing also didn't match the place: many rooms were structurally damaged, and what we'd agreed about using the property when we booked wasn't honored. We could barely use the kitchen to make breakfast, and were told we had to finish by 11 a.m., even though we'd agreed we could use it freely because our family had the place to ourselves, including this inn and their other property with three more rooms. What was meant to be a family trip full of great plans turned into frustration and outrage. Definitely our first and last time.

We stayed for four nights and didn't enjoy it. There were lots of mosquitoes, some rooms had torn towels, and the air conditioning wasn't working properly in two rooms. They wouldn't let us use the barbecue, and no room cleaning was offered at all during our stay. They make promises and don't keep them. It's true the price is very affordable, but it wasn't worth it. A vacation should feel like a vacation. I won't be back.

The discount on the rooms was the only thing that made this stay worthwhile. They'd promised breakfast, then later told us it wouldn't be available. The bathroom smelled awful, there were leak stains on the walls, and both the fan and air conditioning were in poor shape. There were mosquitoes everywhere, and we even ran out of toilet paper. On the last day I asked if I could leave a few minutes after noon, but they refused because another guest was supposedly arriving, even though check-in is only at 3 p.m. A disastrous stay.
