Pousada Casacolinas by HTL

The building itself is nice, but it's poorly maintained, and the whole stay was terrifying. Lights didn't work, the remote had no batteries, and there were no railings by the pools or stairs. Cleaning was awful: they supposedly changed the sheets, but only turned them inside out. The half-board food tasted good, but never varied, and some staff were awful to deal with, especially Román, who says he's the manager. It's a long way from the center, so getting around town isn't convenient. Andy's massages were the only good part. I wouldn't recommend it or go back.

The breakfast was very good, and they kept replenishing the food. The reception staff were friendly, especially Norberto, and Andrea gave attentive, good service during the massages. Still, the room and cleanliness were basic, and the half-board food was good but basic too. It's near Geriba beach but far from the center. Based on this trip, I honestly wouldn't return.

The air conditioning was the one thing in the room that worked well, though on our last day its remote ran out of battery. The beach view is quite distant, partly between the palm trees, and the inn itself isn't as close to the beach as advertised. The photos and page don't reflect the place at all. Everything felt old and the cleaning was awful. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and I don't understand its high rating. We arrived to find the kitchen ceiling collapsed. The debris was still on the floor beside the restaurant area on Sunday. A cat wandered freely around the restaurant. Parking doesn't have room for every guest, so whoever arrives first gets a spot. The beach isn't 400 meters from the inn, despite the listing. The room was smaller than the one we booked, even though when we complained they claimed it was larger than requested. The floor was dirty, the towels stained as if with rust, and there was mold on the wall. The shower water wouldn't heat up. We called someone to look at it, and they seemed unhappy about fixing it. They did, but the tap remained faulty. The heated pool wasn't heated at all and was full of sand. Three of the already few gym machines were out of service. Calling reception to get anything fixed was pointless because there was rarely anyone there. They claimed meals were varied, but dinner was escondidinho and gnocchi. Before booking, I asked on Whats whether there would be variety and was told yes. On Friday, dinner was microwaved escondidinho with roughly chopped tomato. We said we'd like lunch, but were told we had to ask in advance because the food was supposedly made fresh. That didn't ring true after the reheated dinner. We had asked for Friday dinner almost at the last minute and still got it. We requested a refund of the R$140,00 half-board charge because we planned to eat out on Saturday night. They said they'd send a pix later, claiming there was no cash in the till and promising a receipt that afternoon. We stayed from 06/03 to 08/03 and only got the pix on Thursday after I kept messaging, even though I asked on Saturday before we left. Don't make the same mistake we did by paying for half board. We ate elsewhere for every meal, including the night we had that reheated beef escondidinho, which wasn't worth it. The coffee was terrible, and the available juice was so watery it was hard to tell what flavor it was. The cakes and pies were stale and there was no variety. They were already like that on day one, we could tell from the slices being eaten. The pool, food, rooms, and cleaning didn't live up to what was advertised.

I just got back to my beloved Córdoba! We had a wonderful few days at this lovely, welcoming inn. The food was delicious, and breakfast was amazing, with lots of variety and plenty to eat. My thanks to Román, Martin, Magali, and all the staff, from reception to housekeeping. Highly recommend it, and we'll definitely be back.
