Thiago, the barman, was the one good part of this place. The rest was a mess. It's really dirty, the rooms don't look like the photos, and there's black mold in the bathrooms. The whole place needs a major renovation. Things were broken too. One pool was closed off during my stay, and the toilet leaked onto the floor every time it flushed. At breakfast the food was basic and tasted bad, with flies all over it and no fly killer in sight. They don't clean rooms unless you ask, and nobody explained that at check-in. You have to leave your key with them and hope the cleaning happens sometime before 5pm. We asked three times for towels and got none. Good luck getting help from most of the staff. I can only assume the hotel pays for reviews. The five-star ones I've seen seem clearly written by people who didn't stay here, since many are one-liners or mention things that don't exist. Avoid this "hotel" like the plague.

We had loud guests coming back to the pousada every night and talking in the lobby, which was right by our room. Nobody asked them to observe quiet hours. There was also a blackout during our stay, which isn't unusual in Brazil, but they had no flashlights or candles ready. The place seemed not to care about the guest experience. We emailed weeks ahead with a question about breakfast and never got a reply. On the way there we called to confirm check-in time, but got an answering machine. The numbers listed on the site and Google weren't the main number, so we never reached anyone. There were lots of basic things missing or in poor shape. No hooks or towel racks in the bathroom or bedroom, nowhere to dry towels, swimsuits or cangas, and no toilet paper holder. Our queen bed was two singles pushed together, uncomfortable to sleep on, and the old pillows had compressed into one hard lump of cotton. The towels were clean but very old and discolored. Hot water was good when it worked, but it kept cutting out, and we'd have to call maintenance to adjust something in the boiler. The hallway outside our room was never swept or mopped, with hair, dead bugs and debris on the floor, even though they cleaned the lobby. Workers had patched a wall and left gesso dust all over the floor for our whole stay. One pool was very green, though at least someone was working on it. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee and juice came from machines and were terrible. Fresh versions are cheap in Brazil, and that simple change would have helped. They could also offer eggs made to order, as even the simplest pousadas I've stayed in do. The cost felt like a rip-off for Brazilians, though paying in dollars, at five dollars to one real, made the value seem less bad. I've stayed in many pousadas across Brazil, and there were so many small things this one could have done better. I know many pousadas are having a hard time after covid, and these improvements wouldn't have cost much. I'm getting married in Buzios and hoped to recommend it to my wedding guests, but I can't recommend anyone stay here.

The pousada is close to downtown Buzios, and the pool is pretty, but I can't recommend staying here. There are a lot of stairs, and breakfast was very simple and the same every day. Service was really bad. We asked for a fork to eat dinner, and although they had forks, nobody at the hotel would help us.

After a day at the beach, the pool was a really nice place to unwind, and there's also a bar and sauna. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were lovely. We had a pleasant stay, and I'd highly recommend it.

I stayed a couple of nights and had a great time. The shared area is really nice, with pools and mood lighting. The rooms were clean, everything worked, and some of them actually have pretty good views.
