The house has a lot going for it, and I had a good experience overall. Still, the visible little maintenance issues made it feel less cared for than it should. I think some repairs would make it more suitable for stays of any length.

The staff were attentive and tried hard to help, and we do appreciate that. But the whole situation was a lot to deal with. We had booked a double room a month ahead, yet when we arrived they couldn't find the reservation. After a few phone calls, we were shown a room that looked nothing like the Facebook photos, and its door had just been painted that day, so the smell was very strong. We decided not to stay there and waited for the owner. He put us in a shared room instead. Luckily it was empty, and we accepted because we were worn out from the trip. We later found another inn. The owner said that room wasn't supposed to be available for booking, which left us wondering why it had been booked at all. You can only get there by taxi or Uber, and the location isn't convenient for couples wanting to enjoy the nightlife on Rua das Pedras.

The manager was arrogant and rude, and gave us a hard time when we brought up the problems. The beds were hard and felt like children's beds. There were also leaks in the bathrooms and bad smells.

The owners were so welcoming, and our room was kept very tidy. The air conditioning worked really well, and their help made the trip feel that much more special.
