Chez Marine Guest House

A lovely spot in the heart of the village of Geribá, very close to the beach.

We stayed at chez Marine for three days, and honestly I wanted to stay for a whole month. The pousada is lovely, peaceful, and great for relaxing. The owner is such a sweetheart, treated us really well, and helped with everything we needed. I’d recommend staying here to anyone.

A week later and I’m still thrilled with our stay. Rose, the owner, is so kind, and her staff are wonderful. Beto especially was helpful, pleasant, and friendly the whole time. The pousada is just a few steps from Praia de Geribá, with everything we needed close by. We spent five days there and felt so cared for. I’d give more than five stars if I could. We loved everything and promise to return as soon as we can. A big kiss to everyone who helped make this stay in such a beautiful place so special. Cristiane and Fernando.

The location made it easy to see a lot of Búzios without spending much. Praia de Geribá is a two-minute walk away, and Praia da Ferradurinha takes about eight minutes on foot. We paid R$ 10,50 for an Uber to Praia da Tartaruga, then less than R$ 10,00 from there to Azeda, Azedinha, and Ossos. In two nights at Chez Marine we visited around seven beaches. There are affordable restaurants on the corner with dishes for R$ 24,99, plus beach kiosks with seafood and plenty of options for one or two people if you’re willing to spend a little more. The room cleaning could have been better. The blanket had a dirty mark and looked like it hadn’t been washed in a while, there was a musty smell in the room and cushions, and the floor felt dusty when we took off our flip-flops. Breakfast was okay, though we expected more variety. Taking everything into account, I’d give it a fair 7 out of 10.
