My husband, Robson, and I stayed here in 2024. We loved the house and the service, and had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it, and we’ll definitely come back.

Rodolphe is a wonderful host, always cheerful and friendly. The rooms are tidied and cleaned each day, and come with towels and toiletries. They’re complete rooms rather than full apartments, so there’s no kitchen. It’s a good base for exploring, with Ferradura beach very close and the town center a reasonable distance away.

We had to find somewhere else at the last minute and spend what little money we had left after this ordeal. She promised to refund us for the disruption she caused, but apparently never did. NO ONE IS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. The house itself is attractive, though somewhat neglected. It isn’t really a pousada, but a house with four bedrooms: one for the owner, Rudolf, and three for guests. The host was grumpy and arrogant, and made us uncomfortable several times. Halfway through our stay, the owner and, we believe, his partner began arguing loudly downstairs. It escalated into physical violence and dishes being thrown around. We locked ourselves in our room because we didn’t know what was happening. When police arrived, Rudolf shut the front gate, keeping everyone out, including us. We felt trapped in the situation and had to shout at him to open it so the police could get in and we could leave safely. He didn’t put his guests’ safety first. This person seems very emotionally and psychologically unstable. A TRAUMATIC experience. FOR YOUR SAFETY, DON'T GO.

Rodolphe, the French host, is practical, straightforward, and helpful. The pousada is clean and nicely decorated, beside wooded land on a dead-end street. It’s quiet and private, and easy to reach by car or Uber. Beaches are about 5 to 15 minutes away, depending on which one you’re going to. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the breakfast is satisfying and thoughtfully prepared, and the view is lovely, especially from the upper rooms’ balconies looking toward praia da ferradura. The clean hot tub worked perfectly, and the outdoor pool is a good size and well maintained. A minibar in the room would add comfort and privacy. I’d also suggest white bathroom towels, washed so they feel softer and smell fresh. I recommend the pousada and would return.
