Hotel Pousada Recanto das Árvores

Fer was wonderful, and the service was excellent. The room was lovely and right by the pool. Since I don't like nighttime noise, being away from the center made this a perfect spot for me. The only issues were that the kitchen wasn't open when we got up and we could never get the TV working. Apart from that, everything was excellent.

The place has a pool, a common area, a small refrigerator of its own, a TV, weekly cleaning, and a private bathroom. On the downside, the Wi-Fi is poor, the TV is old and has no cable, though I understand some other rooms do, and the small kitchen is missing a lot of utensils. It's pretty good overall, but needs some basic maintenance.

The one good thing is the location, close to the main avenue. Otherwise, our vacation here was stressful, with some kind of service missing nearly every day. We spent days without electricity, water, or Wi-Fi. When there was no water, my husband had to scoop it from the sink with a bucket to flush the toilets. During an outage, they called an electrician who arrived without tools. Since they knew my husband had electrical experience, they knocked on our door asking to borrow his tools and get his help. I'd never seen residents asked to supply tools to fix basic services before. They put chemicals in the pool during the day, so we couldn't use it, even though they could do that at night when guests aren't swimming. The kitchen has very few utensils, and the TV only gets one channel. The package was sold to us with a hammock on the balcony, but there wasn't one when we arrived. When we asked, they said, "It broke, the owner doesn't want to replace it." Nearly 20 days later, after my husband helped fix a light, the cleaning lady, embarrassed by the owners' lack of interest, brought a hammock to our room.

What we appreciated most was the service. You paid close attention to what we needed and were always trying to find a solution. The place is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Thanks so much for looking after us during our stay.
