Pousada Casa Búzios

The standout for me was how personal and warm the hospitality felt. The small boutique pousada is in a heritage villa that was a French residence in the 1940s, and its vintage decor gives every corner an antique, bohemian feel. It balances comfort with local character, though it may not work for travelers looking for luxury accommodation. It isn't as swanky as nearby Casas Brancas or Abracadabra, but it's a good value if you want to explore Buzios. There's no gym, just a cute, cozy pool. The location is one of its biggest strengths. Rua das Pedras, the main street, is a short walk away, with shops, restaurants, and nightlife. Praia dos Ossos and Praia Azeda are also walkable. The little lobby bar has lots of character and is nice for a drink before heading out. Breakfast is complimentary, simple, and made to order. We stayed in a lovely room in the villa's exterior section. It was roomy enough for two adults and simple luggage, with a sweet balcony and views of the ocean, pool, flowering tree, and seafront from the terrace. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was a good size with a walk-in shower. The L'ÓCITTAINE toiletries were excellent spa quality. Wi-Fi was free and worked well throughout the property. There was a small TV with lots of sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment channels, but only in Portuguese. The staff were friendly and took care of our needs with a smile. Special thanks to ANDRE at the front desk, whose World Famous CAIPRINHA we didn't get to try. The real star was the owner and manager, Mr.CRISTIANO, who welcomed us like family and gave us a private tour of the lovely property.

We stayed from 6th to 11th November 2023 in the Canoa room. I've traveled a lot, and this was one of the nicest places I've stayed. The property was clean, very well kept, and had a relaxing feel, with a great location. The staff were warm and friendly, greeting us and treating us like family. Communication over whatsapp before we arrived was excellent, with useful property information and a form to fill in ahead of time. That made check-in quick and smooth. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend it.

The best part of our weekend in Búzios with my wife and friends was staying at this Pousada. It has the feel of a beachside home, and sitting out front by the pool to watch the sunset was a treat. It's an old estate with French history, close to the restaurants, shops, and bars along Rua das Pedras, and several beautiful beaches are within walking distance. I'll definitely be back.

Five stars, this place has loads of charm. The staff speak several languages and are hilarious. Pets are allowed, the rooms are cute, and the villa's Greco-Roman decor is definitely worth a photo.
