Pousada Manancial Búzios

I booked on 25/11/20 for a stay starting 27/11/20. Due to covid 19, visitors could only enter the city with a reservation and QR CODE, but the pousada never sent mine. We were kept waiting at the barrier for hours. The phone numbers listed on Booking and the website didn't work, and nobody answered. I stayed in suíte 1, but the air conditioner wouldn't cool and the bathroom tap only dripped, making even brushing my teeth difficult. The sink beside the pool was clogged and smelled terrible. The rooms were dusty, breakfast very basic, and the Wi-Fi wasn't working. The location is good, but the place needs a lot of maintenance to be worth it. The cost wasn't worth what we got.

Everything was terrible. The place was very dirty, there were flies around breakfast and cockroaches in the room. Despite what the listing said, there was no parking. The service was awful, the pillow completely uncomfortable, and the bathtub was so filthy it couldn't be used. Because of those conditions, my husband, daughters, and I decided to leave a day early and pay for a place to stay in Ilha Grande. We lost our money and our time. Disappointing.

This is the pousada I've felt most at home in, and the one I've wanted most to return to. It's simple, cozy, and really well priced for Búzios, which is rare. Allan, Fred, and Adriana were so attentive and helpful. There are six suites. I stayed in one of the upstairs ones, which are huge for a pousada. Mine had a double bed and three single beds. The other large suite has a double, two singles, and a bunk bed, so it can sleep six. From the room, you get a nice view with a little bit of Geribá sea in the distance. There's also a big balcony with a clothesline and a hammock-style chair. The room had an LCD TV, mini-fridge, split air conditioning, and a good-sized wardrobe, a rare find in pousadas. That was especially useful during my two-week stay. The bathroom was spacious and had a bathtub, with good electric showers for both the shower and tub. If I come back to Búzios, I'll stay here again.

The rooms are roomy and have a little patio with a clothesline. The TV is small and there's no cable. Everything is always very clean, and the staff are really attentive, which makes staying in Buzios more enjoyable. The upkeep could be better, though. The breakfast room has damp ceilings and peeling plaster, and the small pool's paint is faded.
