Dona Elizabeth and Sr. Cléber were warm and friendly, and the breakfast was really good. I went during Carnaval in 2019, and the place lives up to its name: it’s peaceful and quiet. There are cats, but that didn’t bother us. The room was small but always clean. It had no wardrobe, and as far as I could tell only two rooms had air conditioning. If you’re not in one of those, I’d bring a fan. The ceiling fan alone didn’t move enough air. Dona Elizabeth offered us a fan, but we’d already brought our own. The bathroom was basic but clean and worked fine. The towels could be changed more often, though. We stayed five days and didn’t see them changed. The car parks on the street, but it felt safe to leave it there. If you have a car, consider whether it’s worth bringing: taking taxis or Uber everywhere wouldn’t have worked well for us, since we wanted the freedom to visit places and bring our things. Parking at the beaches during Carnaval was either $20 or $30. I’d suggest driving to the main beaches. If you’re okay with a little less space and comfort in the rooms, I recommend the pousada.

The place is comfortable and very quiet, and the owners both gave excellent service. Breakfast was fantastic. It’s conveniently close to Geriba Beach and the main avenue, with easy access to the city center. Highly recommend.
