Sagui Boutique Hotel

So good!

The pool was a highlight, and being able to order drinks there made it even nicer, though they cost extra. The inn is tucked away from the noise, but we could walk to the center and Mucugê beach. With only a few rooms, it has a close, family feel. The staff made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and were so welcoming. Breakfast comes to the table, with tapioca, couscous, eggs and smoothies made fresh if you ask. There are fewer choices than at a big hotel, but everything is fresh. In the late afternoon they bring out coffee, tea and homemade cake. Well done to the whole team!

We were warmly welcomed by Carlos and Débora, who were both kind and attentive. The inn is about a 10-minute walk from Rua mucugê and 15 minutes from the beach, and there’s enclosed parking for guests. Our room was spacious, with pretty decor, a comfortable bed and a lovely, roomy bathroom. The pool looked beautiful overlooking the greenery, especially at sunset. The whole place is thoughtfully decorated with carved wooden furniture and mosaic panels. Breakfast is à la carte, with tapioca, omelets, couscous, yogurt with fruit and even açaí. I did miss having a little cake at breakfast. Each day there’s complimentary afternoon tea with freshly made cake, little biscuits, jam, Nutella, coffee, cappuccino and tea. Our room also had a coffee machine with complimentary coffee or cappuccino capsules. The natural toiletries from a local Arraial brand smelled lovely. The facilities were cozy and made us feel at home. We’ll definitely be back!

The staff were so kind, especially Leandra at reception and Monique at breakfast. They were flexible about our arrival and departure times, which made our honeymoon feel even more special. We chose Sagui for our days in Bahia, and it was the right choice. Our room was cool when we arrived and decorated with rose petals and balloons, with edible treats, drinks and lovely music waiting for us. Breakfast was wonderful, with tasty dishes brought to the table, delicious juices including cacao, and great tapioca. The afternoon coffee was lovely too. Everything felt just right, from the cleanliness and comfort to the quiet and the beautiful setting. I’d recommend it and would return if I get the chance.
