Aqui Bate a Brisa Pousada

We never even got to stay. We booked and paid on October 12 after carefully choosing a smaller, more intimate place to relax in a good location. We got a confirmation email, then arrived today, November 22, to find out our booking had been cancelled three hours earlier, while we were flying from Minas to Bahia. The cancellation email came at 8:12 this morning, even though the reservation was still confirmed yesterday. Mari, who was welcoming guests, was so kind and let us come in while we tried to sort things out. She said there were no rooms left because a family was arriving to take the last three. They had booked after us, on October 14. At first we thought Booking had made a mistake, but when we called, we learned the hotel had cancelled us, claiming the pousada was closed, while we were standing inside it. As far as I know, the law prohibits cancelling a booking with less than 24 hours' notice, especially with an excuse that wasn't true. I don't know what you'll do, but this irresponsibility has caused us a lot of losses, and I intend to take action. We had to find a more expensive place, completely unlike what we'd wanted: over 20 rooms, no parking, and a worse room, location, and setup. We'd rented a car counting on parking being available. We also lost four hours of our beach day dealing with this. How can you cancel a booking made over a month ago just three hours beforehand, apparently only because you wanted to prioritize a larger booking, even though that one came later? If you're reading these comments before booking, think carefully. This happened to us and could happen to anyone. Absolutely outrageous. Such a disappointment to travel so far and plan ahead, only to arrive and deal with this.

The owner was so attentive and always ready to help with a smile. You can feel the care in all the little details. The grounds are thoughtfully laid out, with green areas and cozy spots that have a lovely, homey feel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of fresh choices. The place itself is charming and peaceful, just right for relaxing and enjoying nature. I had a wonderful stay!

Our stay was really good, and the care from the housekeeper, Sra. Cosmira, made a big difference. When we arrived, Sra. Mariana was waiting, gave us some information and the keys, then left. After that, we only communicated over WhatsApp until the next day. We were surprised no one responsible stayed on site after 3 p.m. We stayed four nights, and since checking out, nobody from the pousada has contacted us to ask how things went. That's a shame.

A really pleasant pousada, and it helped make our trip to Arraial d'Ajuda a great memory.
