The location is good, and I found the bed comfortable. The shower got hot, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the split air conditioner cooled the room. Breakfast was simple but nice. Still, there are a lot of things to consider before staying here. I was in room 206, which was cramped, and the bathroom was even smaller. It might work better for someone traveling alone, since as a couple we kept bumping into each other, and there was nowhere to put our clothes. The toilet was loose, and there were hardly any outlets, with the few available already in use. I asked for the room to be cleaned, but nobody did it. The inn is very basic and needs renovation, new furniture, bedding, and paint. You’re also handed a list of rules with fines that makes you afraid to breathe. My biggest concern was that reception was nearly always empty. Staff only showed up at 8:00, and my bus left the station at 8:30. I made it in time, but an earlier checkout could be a problem.

The Wi-Fi was terrible, and the few breakfast options were rarely replenished unless you complained. There’s only a pleasant patio with two tables, with no shared space where you can sit and relax somewhere cool and comfortable. The whole place is tiny, and the rooms feel cramped and uncomfortable. There are no shelves or furniture to help you settle in, and the mattress is as hard as the floor.

The facilities were basic but comfortable, just a few meters from Praia dos Anjos, and the buffet breakfast offered plenty of variety. We had a small mix-up about what time we’d arrive, but the manager sorted it out quickly and kindly. The staff were excellent, very friendly, and helpful.

Pousada Canema made us feel truly at home, and I’ll be leaving with lovely memories and the wish to return soon. It was a wonderful stay in a charming place.
