The food is amazing, and breakfast is pretty good. Staff are friendly, the owners make it feel familiar, and the place is clean and tidy. Just remember this is a pousada, a different category from a hotel. If wind and ocean sounds bother you, don’t pick a sea view room this season. From the taxi, it’s a two-minute walk along the beach with your luggage, or you can use the pavement, which is in really poor condition. You can relax right by the ocean, and basic chairs and umbrellas are free.

Locals call the restaurant at this pousada Nelson's place. Nelson says he caught the grilled anchovy himself the day before, and I believe him. It’s the best I’ve ever had.
