Pousada dos Anjos

Really good.

We ended up leaving after the first night, even though we had paid for the rest of our vacation at Posada Dos Anjos, and moved to another inn. Getting help was difficult because finding someone at reception was hit or miss. The room's air conditioning wasn't working; they had a technician clean the filters and it got better, but a few hours later the electrical system shorted and the whole upstairs lost power. We were told something in the panel had burned out, but nobody tried to sort it out. With the power gone, the electric showers also left us without hot water. Room cleaning was only offered every three days, so we were left with damp towels that wouldn't dry in Arraial's heat and humidity. The sheets were visibly old and in a condition they should be ashamed of, and the showers were very basic. It was a disappointing stay that brought stress and discomfort instead of a relaxing vacation.

We paid before arriving in Arraial because we expected the place to look like its photos, but stayed just one night. The damp smell and dirt became too much. Breakfast was nothing like the pictures either, sometimes there was barely toast. The only bright spot was the women in the kitchen, who tried to cheer us up. The rooms smelled strongly of damp, sheets had moth holes, toilets were clogged, and the air conditioning didn't work. They cleaned only every three days and supplied just one towel, which never dried in the humidity. We tried to get help, but the receptionist and staff couldn't understand us. I wouldn't go back.

I went through Tu Viaje a Medida, and they sent me to this pousada by mistake. I'd chosen Areia dos Anjos in the top-notch "Total Superior" category, so this was completely the wrong place. I wouldn't recommend it at all. The room was awful, dirty and damp-smelling, with cardboard-like sheets that had holes. I asked for it to be cleaned, but nothing was done. The shower was more cold than hot, and Wi-Fi worked only at reception, not in the room or breakfast area. On rainy days they couldn't provide extra towels or anywhere to wash and dry clothes, and there was only one hairdryer for the whole pousada. People talked loudly in the hallway or breakfast area before 7:00 AM, making sleep impossible. Even check-out was left to the "cleaning" lady.
