Hotel Ponta Verde Praia do Francês

I was unlucky with the high tide that week. The famous “natural pools” aren’t available then, and the waves are too strong for swimming at any beach, leaving very little to do. The beach right in front of the hotel was also unpleasantly crowded, with less than a meter between groups, plus litter on the sand and jellyfish. I asked for a chair as a guest, but none was available at the time. The food and service were disappointing too. Breakfast had poor-quality coffee and tasteless food. At dinner, the portions were small and the service was bad. It took about 10 minutes to get my draft beer, and I sent it back because it tasted awful, maybe even rotten. There was live music, but the quality was very questionable. The hotel felt pretentious without delivering. There was a lot of bureaucracy, including having to wear a wristband all the time despite it not being all-inclusive. Almost nobody spoke English, and there was no information in English, not even the restaurant menu. Don’t come to praia do francês or praia do Dunga, it was a total letdown.

The location is great and breakfast was amazing, but the rooms are quite small, especially the bathroom. There aren’t any power outlets in the room, so how are you supposed to charge your phone? That’s frustrating.

The hotel was good, but when I wanted a soda I had to go up to the third floor to get one. Nobody helped me.

The view was the most beautiful part, and the meals were very good too. Service was excellent, and the place was clean and straightforward.
