The grounds are really pretty, with lots of green space, but the accommodations and service disappointed us. There’s no room service, and you can’t order food outside meal times. Meal choices were limited, though the seasoning was good. The Wi-Fi didn’t work on any day of our stay. We got the impression that the place doesn’t provide lodging consistently, only during holiday periods.

We paid for five days but left after just one. The place was dirty, the food was bad, and the pool was tiny and awful. I still haven’t received the amount due from Fábio. The advertising was misleading, and the place seems to be in the red. I’m only giving one star because the system won’t post without at least one. It deserves no stars, just bombs.

We paid for three nights, with the understanding that we could arrive Friday at 3 pm and leave Monday at 3 pm, including lunch. Then around 11 am Monday, we were told lunch wasn’t included because, Fábio said, the hotel doesn’t operate on Mondays. Nobody had told us that, and Monday still appeared as available on the hotel website and Booking. When I called Fábio, he claimed Monday was a courtesy, which was never discussed or agreed. We paid for all three nights. The booking also advertised live music and massage services, neither of which was true. We were deeply unhappy with the stay. Calling this a resort doesn’t fit, at least compared with places in RJ. Even a cheap Pousada there treats guests better. At check-in, at 3 pm, we rang the bell for 30 minutes before the only staff member on site answered. She was very attentive but unprepared and didn’t know about our reservation. She couldn’t give us the Wi-Fi password, and the internet never worked during our stay. She also didn’t know whether they had beer. Much later, another employee arrived with warm beer and put it on ice. When the night shift came in, I told Daiane no one had shown us around. Silvio then only asked if we needed anything and said check-in wasn’t needed because he had our details, supposedly from Fábio, though I’d never given him any. Daiane said Itaipava was the only beer available then, but that we’d have brands to choose from on Saturday. That didn’t happen. They didn’t charge me for a beer, thankfully, since R$13,00 for a 0,269ml can of Itaipava would be outrageous even at the most expensive nightclub in RJ. On another occasion, we asked for a second Caipirinha and were told they’d run out of lime. Fábio had pushed us to book by saying only two rooms remained, even though the hotel was completely empty. When we asked about entertainment, an employee said there’d only be some if the hotel was full. From Sunday into Monday, after dinner at about 8 pm, the only employee at the hotel left, so we were there alone overnight. He pointed out where the reception key was and told us to call Nogueira if we needed anything, saying he lived nearby. The rest of the hotel was locked up and all the lights were turned off. The room we stayed in was great, the hotel was very clean, and the meals and desserts were very good. The employees, though unprepared and uninformed, did try hard to look after guests. If the hotel had been full, I wouldn’t have been able to tell guests from staff since everyone wore regular clothes with no identification. We were also surprised by the gap between the booking and the actual service. This is our disappointment, Carlos and Ariela.

I booked for a client through Fabio and paid in advance, but when my client arrived there was no reservation. I asked for the money back, and the manager, Fabio, offered a weekend stay instead. He called later to cancel, saying there was nobody there, and asked us to pick another date. When I called, they told me the hotel was full. I asked again for a refund, but there’s still been no deposit, no way to reach anyone, and no response from the people responsible for the hotel.

I’m at the resort gate now, but nobody is answering the intercom or phone. Just to be clear, I didn’t have a reservation. I was here with my husband four years ago and we really liked it, so we tried to get in touch.
