The place looks lovely, but my stay there was a huge disappointment. My fiancé and I had booked for New Year's because we wanted to celebrate our engagement. I found the room on Airbnb and chose it for its great location and the listing's promises of a top suite, a bathtub, minibar, TV, and a nature view. The booking was accepted within about five minutes, and they sent us the year-end schedule. A few days later, though, they said an older person had accepted by mistake, that room was no longer available, and they would move us to another one. We agreed because the photos looked great. When we arrived, they put us in a room beside what looked like a stockroom. A few days later we realized our room itself was also an unused storage room. The double bed was actually two singles. I asked to have it changed as soon as I noticed, but they ignored me. Being next to the stock area meant a lot of noise around New Year's. I think the staff were going in for drinks, talking loudly, and slamming the door. We wanted to leave, but had nowhere else to go at that time of year. It was humiliating. Only after I spoke with another guest, who was bothered by what we'd said, were we offered a different room, just one day before we left. The minibar was dirty and had ants in it. There was no TV, no nice view, and the balcony next door had nothing but rubble. The pool was filthy and full of leaves, so we only used it on our second-to-last day. Dona Karina could have canceled our stay since we'd paid much less than the other guests, though it was the price shown on Airbnb and apparently their mistake. That would've been the decent thing to do. This was supposed to be a special engagement celebration, but it turned into a headache. A few employees aside, the biggest letdown was the lack of empathy. Airbnb's policy says this is very wrong and could even lead to a lawsuit, though honestly, it isn't worth it. If you're considering staying here, don't expect much ethics or help if something needs sorting out. I left disappointed. The place is beautiful, but everyone handled things badly. I paid 1,000 reais for three days, and some people paid 4,000. Honestly, I feel like I paid way too much to stay in a room the owner's relatives use. Such a letdown.
